Over twenty women were recruited into the initiative as participants and over ten were interviewed, some recorded on audio, some video, and yet others as text. All of the interviewed material was consolidated into the following approximately 30 minute video that you can watch online;
Questions asked of the interviewees.
‘... being afraid to speak out because you’re afraid to lose your job or lose your welfare cheque and have to go home to hungry children and risk losing them to CAS’
‘I am afraid of CAS, when my children prefer to stay with foster parents instead of coming home to me – I don’t blame my children, I was not able to properly care for them and they got used to soccer and music lessons from CAS which I cannot afford for them when they come back to me – why doesn't’t CAS have a re-introduction program for children to help them go back to their mothers? Why can’t CAS give me the resources for my child’s soccer and music lessons?’
